National Survey of State Laws, reference library

Gale Virtual Reference Library. National Survey of State Laws. 2008. 20 May 2008 http://go.galegroup.com/ps/infomark.do?action=interpret&source=library&actionString=DO_DISPLAY_ABOUT_PAGE&tabID=T002&prodId=GVRL&userGroupName=athe17405&docId=CX3046299999&type=aboutBook&version=1.0&authCount=1.

This is an ebook that provides a quick, state-by-state guide to laws in the United States. It compares how they are different and similar and what governs their legislation. This book has a large section on family law and abortion. Although abortion is legal in all 50 states, states have the ability to place restrictions on abortion, and many have done so. This is an up-to-date reference to those laws and how they are different. It is important to understand that abortion in the United States is different across state lines and many issues at stake now have to do with minors crossing state lines to have abortions, and the implication a reversal of Roe v. Wade would have for state legislation. This is easy to read and does not use a lot of legal jargon. It’s also easy to navigate and find exactly what you’re looking for.
