
This photograph was taken of Samuel Alexander Armas at 21-weeks during in utero surgery. It became known as the “Hand of Hope” and is perhaps the most influential photograph in abortion debate. The photograph shows the baby grasping the surgeons hand at an incredibly early stage of pregnancy. It fueled the campaign that abortion kills a baby. It was originally published in USA Today and has bee republished in newspapers around the world. The photograph is significant in the abortion debate and shows physical proof of a pro-life argument. Samuel is alive and well today and is evidence of the growing success of in utero srgery, a growing field.
